I grew up in the wheat fields of Washington state in an Adventist family. From a very young age having a relationship with God was presented as a high priority. But, it wasn’t until 2016 at the age of 10 that, through baptism I decided for myself that I was going to follow Jesus no matter what. From that point on, life became very difficult. I went through the divorce of my parents, but it was through that experience that I truly learned to depend on God. In 2022, I chose to spend my summer canvassing in Youth Rush Michigan. This is what sparked my enthusiasm for Literature Evangelism. I knew I wanted to serve God in ministry and this passion was my confirmation that this is where God wanted me. I again canvassed in 2023 and at the beginning of 2024 I co-founded STEP, in hopes to reach as many souls for Christ in the Pacific North West.

I grew up in Michigan, in an amazing Adventist family. We moved out to Washington about two years ago. My family always put spending time with God and being a shining light to the people we came in contact with, first when I was growing up. Over the years of my life, God has been drawing me close to a deeper relationship with him. In 2020 because everything was closed down and youth rush was not happening our church decided to do their own program, but only for two weeks. That gave me the experience of literature evangelism, but I didn’t really ever think about doing literature evangelism, until we moved out to Washington. About a year ago I was at our church camp out, and I was talking to someone and the subject of canvassing came up and about starting a canvassing program here in Washington. After that God placed upon my heart the idea to canvass Washington and reach our community with passing out the GC. So I told God if he wanted me to pass out the GC in our community, he would have to provide the books, and two weeks later God provided somewhere to get the books. Through the process of organizing our church to pass out the books, some of us got talking about starting a canvassing program and God has been opening up the doors from there to start a canvassing program called STEP.

From a very young age I knew that I wanted to be in the medical field. I was about 4 years old when I watched the movie Gifted Hands, and it was settled that I was going to be a brain surgeon! God put that fire in me, but He had other plans! I was baptized at the age of 8, and throughout my teenage life I tested the waters with different medical fields of practice. I seriously looked into first response work, but God clearly closed those doors when He opened doors for me to get involved in the medical missionary work. For 6 months I worked along side a doctor to teach a medical missionary class, and in 2022 I went to Tennessee and took a formal Medical Mission Evangelism Training course. Here God grew the seed He had planted many years before. I have a passion for missions, both medical and evangelism. I am currently in school to gain my bachelors degree in science of Midwifery in hopes of taking it overseas to the mission field someday. But while I am in school I have tried to take every opportunity given me to be involved in God’s work. Evangelism is an important part of that work, and I am so thrilled to be a part of founding STEP and reaching the homes in the PNW.

Having grown up reading mission story books and being involved with door-to-door outreach with my church, I have had a growing desire to be on the frontlines of mission work, whether here in the States or overseas. In the summer of 2023, I had the incredible experience of being a part of a 10-week canvassing program. Seeing how God worked in my life and those with whom I interacted has further increased my desire to be completely involved in spreading the Gospel. I currently have the privilege to be part of helping start STEP.
